We are Carmen and Jaro — and while our roots lie in two different countries, we share one passion: the simple, authentic life close to nature in the mountains.

Life in the Mountains as a Passion

What once began as an exciting job has become so much more over time: home, daily life, and true passion.

After years of experience at various alpine huts across Austria, Switzerland, Slovakia, and South Tyrol — where our paths ultimately crossed through the unique world of hut life — we are now ready for our first season as hut keepers at the Magdeburger Hütte.

Emil: Jaro’s long-time friend and mountain companion. Joining us for the first mountain summer and pitching in wherever needed.

"We look forward to your visit and to sharing the peace of nature and the beauty and simplicity of mountain life with you."

What defines us?

It’s the simple things that make our happiness real.
Some characteristics of us and our philosophy

Genuine Hospitality

No hotel service, no stars. We welcome you the way we ourselves would like to be welcomed — genuine, warm, and uncomplicated.

Hut life as Home

For us, this is not a summer job. The hut is everyday life, passion, and home — and you’ll feel that in the way we interact with guests and with the nature around us.

Experience from Four Countries

Years of experience at huts in Austria, Switzerland, Slovakia, and South Tyrol. We know what works — and what doesn’t.

What you want to know

The most important information before your ascent to the Magdeburger Hütte.

The Magdeburger Hütte is open from mid-June to early October, depending on snow conditions. There is no winter room and no winter operation.

The hut can be reached on foot via various hiking trails. The easiest route is Trail No. 6, starting from Innerpflersch.

No special experience is required.

The hut is a suitable destination for hikers and mountaineers looking to explore the Stubai Alps.

Confident young hikers can easily reach the hut. Spending the night here can be an ideal summer adventure for children.

Dogs are only allowed with prior arrangement with the hut keepers and subject to an additional charge.

The hut is supplied by helicopter.
